This is part of a huge collection of guitars we are selling for a client who’s husband passed away 3 years ago. He was a man of discerning taste and kept the collection in impeccable condition. When I walked into the room of literally hundreds of guitars on display, all top shelf, desirable, unique and some very eclectic, I felt like I went to guitar heaven. I will be adding many more guitars to the site in the coming days.
You’re looking at a rare 2004 Fender So-Cal Speedshop Stratocaster, made in Korea. This guitar was inspired by a one-off made in Fender’s Custom Shop. They made only 600 of these, so there is not a lot of them out there floating around. It features a single Alnico humbucker and a single volume control to keep things simple. It is in very clean condition with only a few minor scuffs on the back. It comes with a SKB HS case. So-Cal Speedshop was opened in 1946 in Burbank, CA by Alex Xydias who had cars that set land speed records. In 1951 he set a land speed record of 210 mph. All his cars were painted with a pattern and colors that match this guitar.
