The Gibson ES225T is a notable model from the brand’s catalogue because of its single P90 in the middle position. The guitar was produced from 1955 to 1959, it fell between the cheaper ES125 and the new ES330 towards the end of its existence and was taken out of production.
Due to the central placement of the P90 element, the ES225T has a unique sound. The slightly oval C-shaped neck gives the guitar comfortable playability, while the laminated maple back and sides produce a bright sound. The addition of âTâ after the type number makes the guitar recognizable as a thinline model, and therefore has a thinner body than Gibson’s regular Hollowbody models. The addition of a Florentine cutaway also ensures easy access to the higher frets.
This 1957 Gibson is in exceptional cosmetic shape showing very little signs of wear and plays extremely well!
The bridge-tailpiece combination characteristic of the model has been replaced by a separate rosewood bridge with a trapeze tailpiece. The tuning machines have also been replaced. Otherwise, this ES225T is in original condition, and the guitar comes with what looks like, the original hardshell case.
