Introduced in 1969, the Gibson ES150 is a true hollow body archtop electric guitar. Unlike the ES335, which has a thinner body style and a block down the center of the bout, the ES150 has a deep body cavity, and is fully hollow with internal bracing, giving it a woodsy, more acoustic tone. The double humbucker pickups and 2-volume, 2-tone, 1 master volume knob setup makes this guitar an excellent choice for jazz and blues players who need full control over the tone and volume of the guitar.
This ES150 features all-the-way-around double binding, block fret markers, Tune-O-Matic bridge, skirted Fender-style knobs, black cellulose pickguard, and Gibson deluxe tuners (this guitar has non-original Gibson deluxe tuners, with new holes drilled for them on the back of the headstock). Original Dark Walnut finish. Made in the USA.
Note: The last 2 characters in the model number of this guitar refer to the number of pickups and the finish color. This is a ES150 “DW” which stands for Double (pickup) Walnut (finish) – denoting that it has two pickups and is finished in Dark Walnut.
