Here we have a very clean and spectacular playing 1979 Gibson Les Paul Standard in Ebony. Built late in 1979, it has the sought after Tim Shaw PAF replica pickups that are know to 1980 Les Pauls. The guitar at one point had the PU covers removed and then put back on. There is a couple of dings on the back that someone tried to cover with what looks like nail polish and minor worming that is pretty normal for a 40 year old guitar. This can certainly be cleaned up to look much better with a little elbow grease but this guitar is a consignment so we are selling it as it stands. None of the wear is out of character for a 40 year old guitar and in fact is much cleaner than most we’ve seen. The frets are original and in great shape, showing no wear and the guitar plays very clean. The guitar comes with a 70s hard shell case but it is not the original Gibson protector case it should have come with. Everything else is original and the guitar is without repairs or mods!
